What type of garlic is that Zack, certainly looking healthy Thanks Richard. It's Chesnok Red. The same variety that I have been getting TGS. The garlic I got from reed is looking good. The scapes on it are curling more.

Today I made room the a few more plants. The rest were doing the leaf curl thing so I tossed them. I moved Betimes Macbeth since its a micro dwarf too. It's in a nice little corner now. I am seeing flowers on a lot of plants too. This one is Mamie Brown's Pink. Here are four of the tomatoes I planted today. I made some room for them behind the compost. Cucumbers and corn are coming up. I also planted those really big walking onion bulbils. They were starting to divide before they even left the mother plant.

Ok so I am growing corn for the first time this year. It is Lofthouse Astronomy from Joseph Lofthouse and so far I have only had 4-5 seeds that have sprouted. I sowed them on 5/5 9 days ago and have watered the area every few days. Should I resow? I worried birds might have got them. They tend to pick worms out of the garden although I haven't noticed them in that area?

Older seed, from 2012, germinated at 76% after 7 days. So hopefully your seed will be popping up any day now...

I'm just wondering if the birds got it and how soon I should assume they did and resow.

The first garlic scapes started to open today. They are on the garlic reed sent. We are calling them Reed's Indiana Homestead. Looks like they might have a few flowers. Also picked the first tomatoes a few days ago. They are from a micro dwarf that is crowded in a pot with a few other plants.

Wow, I have grown that garlic for years and don't think I ever realized it made full scapes like that from first year plants. When the weather cools this fall I think I'll hike down to where it came from and take some pictures.

Thought I would post a few more pictures of the garlic. Here is reed's Indiana Homestead getting some color from the sun. And the Chesnok Red straightening out. One of the scapes is 4 1/2" feet tall too. I have some big garlic plants this year. Hopefully the bulbs will be the same! Also have some peppers that have set. And now for a question. I have never grown corn before and this in my first year of doing so. Is this normal? It almost looks like multiple plants.

Whether you get more ears or not (I tend not to favor letting tillers "ear-up"), more plant is an advantage.
