Has anyone in the U.S. Ordered from tatiana's? I'm thinking of ordering a few things but not sure how reliable the shipping is with tatiana's being in Canada. A very highly regarded source. I believe a lot of US individual growers order from them and they are very open about their shipping policies on their website (but I have not ordered from them yet). They do have a wonderful selection and maintain a very informative database.

The database is wonderful! I have used it many times. Very big fan of the site. The site did say that that shipping to the U.S. is not a problem most of the time and that when it is a problem the seeds are typically is a bubble mailer.

Has anyone had any experience with Whiffletree Farm and Nursery in Ontario? I'd never heard of them before this afternoon but they have a couple of things I haven't seen anywhere else including shipova trees. They also have goumi that I thought someone was looking for. They are a BBB member so guessing they're probably ok.. I've sent for a catalog anyway, but it would be nice to hear of any personal experiences with them.

Can't say about them, but One Green World also offers such.

Yeah, seed catalogue season comes and...I'm not as enthused as I once was about the catalogue selection. More and more consolidation. Fedco gets read because it's entertaining prose and New England-centric. Although lately I've been wondering if I shouldn't start taking a look at Southern Exposure, too. My climate appears to be firmly zone 7 these days, perhaps more like the Southern Exposure test fields in central Virginia than the New England seed companies, which are mostly in Maine/VT.

One Green World...unfortunately is in the States and they don't ship to Canada, or at least they didn't a couple of years ago when I tried to order some stuff from them. The paperwork - phytosanitary certificates and such, apparently makes it too much hassle for the return.. same as Oikos. Very frustrating. Seeds are not a problem so far ..although postal costs have gone through the roof..but plants are a huge hassle and we aren't a big enough market to make it worth while.
