The amuri is a handsome red onion.
Approximately how long from planting bulbils to harvest did they take?

Do you feed the onions anything in particular? I have been trying to grow onion from seeds for 2-3 years now and always get small onions. Shallots are good size. This year I got some fish emulsion to try to make them grow larger.

Each leaf represents a ring in onions. Early growth (before summer solstice) can be pushed with some nitrogen. I have used dried fish meal, alfalfa, and blood meal all with good results. If that hasn't worked for you in the past, maybe look at micro nutrients.
