Dug the short fat coloured carrots today, I need the room, and will relocate them to corner of the garden to mass cross again. T

These were mass-crossed, selected for a few years through a couple of negligence-induced low number bottlenecks, then thinned a couple of months ago by selecting out anything that looked pale at the top - I left everything with a purple tint to the foliage bases. Just wondering how to replant these - should i select for vibrant colour, or go for the short and blunt ended ones? I think they are F4... T

I can see them just fine. Good job so far. If it were me I would select for shape first.

If i go with short and blunt, I'll be cutting my selection down to quite low numbers, and may need to include some of the mostly normal coloured ones...Dilemma. I don't know anything about carrot genetics... T

I've fiddled with the google album settings, but to no avail, i fear. Perhaps because rowan 'knows' me through other internet channels... OK, probably need to find another photo service shit! T

I just host my pics on photobucket. I find it easy to link photos there.
