Just about done one set of corn, although it seems to be trying to get more cobs closer to the ground they are small and clearly immature, the second set is going strong with bigger fatter and better filled cobs, the third variety is sulking a little. I was surprised to spot a Thelma Sanders squash in the jungle, it looks about full size. It also got planted in July so very pleased with it.

Corn is just about done, some small cobs left to harvest, I've been so pleased to get so many meals from it! Found a bunch of what was supposed to be melon and brought them in to see what they had to say for themselves, they all turned out to taste like very juicy cucumbers, which was a surprise, since to my knowledge I didn't plant any cucumber. One was oval, very dark green smooth skin, one was the same but had a fine white sort of dusty surface overlay on the green and one looked exactly like an unripe cantaloupe and all three tasted like cucumbers. Very tasty, juicy cucumbers, but cucumbers nonetheless. Weird.
There are still a couple of decent sized winter squash doing their thing, leaving them until we get a frost warning. Got three Thelma Sanders squash. So all in all was quite pleased with them all, given the extremely late start. Only some melons didn't produce something and they all have put out flowers, it was simply too late a start for them.
