Yeah, I forget who I sent seeds to once in England, but I grew them here in Colorado, USA and they were dwarf about 2ft tall I think. In England the exact same seeds grew 3-4ft if i remember correctly. So climate and epigenetics change height to some degree.
But a tall pea will generally still be tall and a short pea will still be shorter than a tall variety.
Many of my peas grow 6-7ft tall. So get yourself a trellis or 10!

I tried the Sugar Magnolia peas back in 2020 and they tasted great! I will note that as you dig into a couple of pods, the purple color starts wears off onto your hands though. It is more filling to eat them as snap peas than to shell them out later on. They also have multi-branched tendrils, which is great for grabbing onto the trellis!

i love peas. the ones that Andrew sent me have been grown, each year i pick a few and grow them and then harvest the seeds. the only ones i've been able to rehome at the seed swap have been the larger podded ones called Green Beauty (they may have been mixed with another type that is similar but does not taste the same), i think there's another name written on that package but i'm not able to dig that out at the moment due to me being in the middle of bean shelling from this year's harvest. they grow 3-4ft tall without supports of any kind, probably would grow taller if i had them near a fence. plan on growing some more peas next year as usual. not sure which ones i will select...
