I have a few favorites that are on the list no matter what else I try but the huge plethora of choices is a bit daunting this year when I want to try raising a variety of seedlings for sale. I found some new varieties from a breeder in Alberta who I had never run across before and some of his varieties will absolutely be included but would really like to hear what varieties - preferably not late as I am in a short season area - are people's absolute have to haves. Taste is the criteria I am most interested in.

Sweet Treats and Chianti Rose were my best tasting tomatoes last year. I really wanted the purples to taste better than the pinks, but it didn't happen. The beta carotene orange tomatoes like Jaune Flamme get an honorable mention. Valentine tastes great when cooked on a pizza.

One of my favorites is a small yellow cherry tomato that is mislabeled as Solanum cheesmaniae from Terrior Seeds. It is a hybrid. But it is awesome.

One of my favorites is a small yellow cherry tomato that is mislabeled as Solanum cheesmaniae from Terrior Seeds. It is a hybrid. But it is awesome. You sent me that last year and I grew it in 2019. It is really good. Wish we could afford and or find someone to have it genetically tested to find out if it has any cheesemaniae in it. It is a good tasting and very early yellow cherry. I'd like to include it in a test grow of my dozen or so earliest to see where it ranks. I saved seed, but not sure its a must grow out for 2020. If I do I'll probably plant no more than 4 seeds. You also sent me the real cheesemaniae which is very different, much smaller, much later, and less tasty. At least the accession I grew out. Cheesmaniae does have a lot of variation in the genome, but pure cheesmaniae is very different fruit wise. The plant leaves and sprawling growth habit totally line up from what I can tell. Terrior seeds refuses to publish my 5 star positive reviews because I know it's a hybrid. The person who collected it for them claims it was collected direct from the Galapagos islands. I dont doubt it has half ancestry, but they have a history of domestics contaminating the wild ones a lot.

Ball's Beefsteaks and when we grow cherry tomatoes Sweet 100s.
i wish we had more variety here, but those are the two that Mom insists on. we grew a different kind of beefsteak last season and it did ok (i can't find the name of it at the moment), but the Ball's Beefsteaks we'd been growing before did better.

as if things weren't already complicated enough I found an Alberta site that has been doing tomato breeding for a while Casey's Heirloom Tomato in Airdrie, and he has some interesting varieties... I need an acre of good garden soil and two helpers just for the tomatoes I wanna try.

horn of the Andes is my favourite tomato. The lot advantages are she has little of seeds and a dry pulpit. When she has the apical necrosis we have just to cut the point. We grow also San Marzano ,canestrino di lucca, marmande and a variety of tomato orange cherry.

My all time favorite is Green Giant. It is very disease resistant and productive. It is sweet, fruity and juicy. Everybody has the same reaction when they taste it : wow!

My favorites are the larger pink potato-leaf varieties (such as Tiffen Mennonite and Cleota Pink), the larger oxheart varieties (such as Hungarian Heart) and the elongated paste tomatoes (such as San Marzano Redorta). I also prefer grape tomatoes to most cherry tomatoes, there is an OP version named Elfin which has a more restrained growth habit.

My favorite tomato is alakır tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=50041&highlight=alak%26%23305%3BrIt does very well in my climate ( Dry hot days and cool nights). My friends in the warmer parts of Turkey said that It did not do well in their climate. It is for paste and fresh eating. Kellogs Breakfast and Brandywine are my other favorites.

My favorite Tomato last year was the True Black Brandywine. The taste was AMAZING!!!! it made my eyes roll it was so good. It was so good I forgot to save seeds so I bought more seeds this year. I’m hoping it will be just as good this year. Never can tell what the growing season will be like. If it does just as good then this will be a definite keeper.

I live in Minnesota, so my favorite tomatoes to grow originated in Siberia. I figured that if they make it there, they would here. Most tend to be dark color. My favorites are the Black Cherry, which continue growing here until a hard freeze kills the plant. I like the taste also.

Though we have an alleged long season, I like the Russians for the same reason. They're tough! Mine often give me a late bumper crop while I'm finishing off the summer crop harvesting.
One of my staples is Black Moor that will often volunteer and I find myself harvesting until late October. Not the best tasting purple plum, but it is so darned reliable and melts down like a paste tomato. Absolutely swelters with spicy flavors for chili sauces and spicy tomato sauces as most purple and blacks do.
Ace 55 (low acid) and Heidi paste tomatoes are my red staple varieties. Generally I grow Black Krim or another beefy purple variety.
I like prolific and tough plants.
