Geez, I feel boring here with just
Golden Bantam Stowell's Evergreen and maybe just maybe a bit of Strawberry Popcorn if the seed will germinate. I don't know how long I've save this seed?? Mid 90's I think? It's been in a glass jar in the fridge all this time. I'll see what % I get.

Howdy from Arizona! :-) I'll be growing my first garden ever this year. Yippie!!!! I have seed for Silver queen and Honey & cream but really what i wanted to do was grow some super sweet heilooms. I figure I have room for 4 different types and hope to discover which i like best for the following year. Any suggestions for a newby looking for sugary sweet sweet corn oozing sweetness? I'm hoping to impress me esposa with the sweetness she deserves? What's the attraction with Strawberry Popcorn?

I'm growing Golden Bantam and Country Gentleman, a la suggestion de Alan. I'm gonna try the 'Three Sisters' method, and get my kids involved. They loved the idea, and the name. I'm also gonna throw a bunch in the perennial beds. Why not? My neighbors prolly already think I'm a bit weird!! And corn can kinda look like an ornamental grass, right?!

Alan, did you forget my Merlin? Anyway Myron, don't worry, you will get Mirai And Merlin too, and no corn is sweeter than Mirai, I tell you.

No, no friend, I didn't, this post was from last year. This year I'll be growing your Merlin over at Kim's more than likely. I'll also be growing:
Astronomy Domine with added genetics Silver King Early Sunglow Seneca Arrowhead Golden Bantam improved Mushrooms Martian Double red Country Gentleman 2112 (seneca arrowhead and early sunglow F2 mix) and a bunch more I can't think of off the top of my head.
Of course there are the other corns as well:
Pop Gregory's Maize Morado Mass cross colored dent corn (that I named once and can't remember, maybe Johno knows, I think I sent him some)

Alan, which one is the tastiest, fluffiest popcorn to grow? Might try it this year, if you tell me how to dry it.

Mike I would give you a suggestion on pop corn if I knew but to be honest with you with the exception of the old Purdue 45 and strawberry popcorn I haven't grown any others. I'm really hoping that the Pop Gregory's will be a real winner and I'm sure it will as people in this area wouldn't even bother saving seed if it weren't up to their expectations. I will report back to you on it this year though.
Johno, how is the cherokee long ear pop corn that you grow?
