Okay, not sure where to post this, but I'm so damn excited! I found a part time job, near home, that fits perfectly with the kids' school hours, that pays much less than minimum wage, but doing something I love, working with horses (and not shovelling shit!!!) and I want it so badly!!! I'm meeting with the owner on Friday, and keeping my fingers, toes and anything else I can think of crossed that it'll work out. I don't really care about the money ( a luxury I have, I know) but it would sure be nice to have a job that I can make a little spending money, doing something that I like. Please, please think good thoughts for me on Friday! I saw the add in the paper today, and got that tingly feeling! The one where it's either meant to be, or too good to be true!

Wishing you the best, Sammy. I have a friend who was able to work with horses as one of her jobs when she lived in Vermont. Was a wonderful thing! john

There are horse jobs that don't require shoveling?

BAH!! Don't brake your back shoveling shit Sammy, just buy a couple of labrador puppies. They are the best breed of dog to eat horse shit ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Ah! The fun stories I could tell...if that subject was not so disgusting I know a place where the dogs do just that, no kidding and I have seen it with my own eyes. My gosh, this weather is affecting me, look what I am talking about I must need to harvest something else than beans very bad

fingers and toes crossed for you Sammyqc. And when it is fun, it isn't a job, it's playtime, so here's hoping that they will pay you well for having fun.

I had a job at a petting zoo a few summers back. There was alot of shit shoveling and wheelbarrow pushing, but it was still fun. Who doesn't want to feed a few baby pygmy goats the bottle? Or cuddle a miniature horse baby only a day old? I want a horse (or 2) more and more every day. lol But I just don't have the fencing or shelter right now.

I used to live next to a horse ranch, and the one thing that the ranchers didn't want to do was shovel it. So they let anyone have the dung for free if they would shovel it. There was one kid in particular who would put on his "--it kickers" (big boots) and harvest big buckets of poop. Then his dad would till it into their garden (it was a very large garden). I guess it worked, because they had bumper crops of tomatoes, potatoes, and cucumbers. One cucumber was about as long as the man's arm.

I got the job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks everyone for your good wishes! I'm sure it helped! I wonder how long I should wait before I ask if I can take some manure home?? Don't want them knowing I'm weird too early! They'll find out soon enough! And Michel, I used to have a Great Dane, who did that! It was really gross when she ate too much and it would come back up.
