Mike just as long as you treat her to dinner (a nice flake of alfalfa and perhaps a few carrots and apples) and not call her Sarah...

Okay, so what makes THIS site any different from iDig now?? I just opened the 'most recent 10 posts' and 9 out of 10 were political crap. I thought this was supposed to be a gardening site. Guess I was wrong.

Blue..
I could name you quite a few differences between the two sites. But, i can see that what's bothering you is all the polical "crap". Well for one the difference here is that HG has the majority of it's posts talking about gardening and breeding stuff... and IDig is about 99% talking about political and religious stuff right now. You just clicked the most recent post button at the wrong time. If you had clicked it half an hour ago.. or an hour ago it would have been 9 out of 10 talking about breeding projects.
Now i don't get into comparing who's better than who... so i don't like ragging on other forumns and the way they're run. But, i do know almost every gardening site i've been to has some thread where people can talk about other things besides gardening. Just apparently we have some people who aren't busy with gardening stuff right now. I figure it'll pass.. once people start getting more into their gardening planning all the political disscussions will die down. Least i hope so.
But, i can't say i'm not quilty of being involved with some of the political crap myself when i post about my views on cannabis. So, i guess if i'm gonna have my views.. others may as well have theirs.
So,, what's different.. well i guess respect. We don't seem to be as bitter and angry over here.
I don't like the topic either.. but i suppose i could always start talking about gardening stuff with everyone if it upsets me that much. No saying i have to join in on something i care less about... and i won't.. I was just answering your question and now i'll be quiet.
Dave

Hi Blue,
I share your feelings too, even though I'm one of the guilty parties. I have yet to see any forum on the Internet that didn't have some chatting of people trying to get to know each other. Remember a number of us are new to this forum, and don't have any other way to see the people behind the Brassicas and Curcurbits. Keep in mind too you are also choosing kind of a strange time to complain about the political crap, it being less than a week after the elections when it's what's on everyone's minds. I'm pretty sure the discussion will change on it's own soon anyway...

Okay, I'm sorry. It's not that I feel that we have to chat about Gardening all the time. Anyone who knows me well, knows that's not the case.
I'll go back to my corner and stay out of political discussion forums.
