Hey Martin" Hows your wife doing, hopefully she's way down the road to a fast recovery? She came through the surgery OK. Scheduled for 3½ hours but took 6. 15" incision pretty much bared all of the thoracic vertebra. Transferred Sandra to a hospital today which specializes in rehabilitation. It will be mainly to assure that she can safely maneuver around the home while the spinal cord nerves regenerate. Aiming to have her home before Christmas. Martin

Martin,
How is your wife doing and how are you doing? I
I was lucky that mine was in the lining of the brain. They thought it would be about a 5 hour surgery and it turned into a 10 hour one. They started an hour late. My mother was going nuts waiting as they wouldn't tell her anything and time kept going by and by.
It takes about a year to really shake of the effects of the anastita (yes, I spelled it wrong, but I'm too tired to look it up right now). You feel kinda foggy and have a real hard time focusing on anything. I kept trying to figure out what was wrong with me until someone else mentioned the problem which the docs never tell you about.
Hang in there. Is there anything I can do?

She had her first session of PT, Physical Torture, yesterday. Hope is to abandon the walker for a cane in about a month. Either way right now, navigating up or down even one step can only be done sideways and with support as the knees still aren't working right yet. About 3 or 4 inches of nerves were affected and regrowth is at the rate of only a millimeter every few days. Somehow we were expecting a faster recovery but that's not the case with that particular type and location. But as long as we can detect even the slightest improvement each day, we're happy with it.

Progress, even if it's slow coming is a good thing. I'm glad she's doing well.

I was flipping tv channels and saw something advertised on one of the French cable channels entitled Paquebot...
Reminded me that I saw Martin online earlier and that I should bump this thread up so we can ask again.
Martin, how is your Wife doing? I do so hope that she is recovering as hoped.
