Does anyone want to collaborate so we can all test our corn for presence of the (GMO) Bt protein? I just bought a bunch of plexiglass, and plan to build my own Electrophoresis box, so i can visually compare the genetics of my corn. learn.genetics.utah.edu/content/labs/gel/build_gel_box.pdfwww.pearlbiotech.com/But, that method is really only a good one on a small scale. A better method is probably to buy bundles of Bt test strips. But, the minimum kit size is 100 test strips and cost $360 per kit plus shipping. www.envirologix.com/artman/publish/products.shtmlI'd be willing to contribute maybe $20-50 to whoever is willing to order some, for my share of some test strips.

I don't think I could collaborate on the testing part, but I could (at the moment at least) add $10 to go towards purchasing the kit.
On our way home from the swap, we stopped at "Buffalo Trace" bourbon distillery and took the tour. I was rather fascinated to learn that they require certified organic, GMO free corn. I wonder if the other distilleries also have the same requirement? I envisioned someone getting their hooks into Monsanto for contaminating their fields which were destined for distillation but were rejected... being a sort of high end deal... what do you suppose would happen in such a scenario?

Monsanto, or the farmer who owned the contaminating field would have to cough up = That was the outcome of the case in Manitoba = Percy lost the fight, but won the war = Monsanto has to make good on contaminated fields now.

I think that I would rather not know.... I actually don't blame you joseph, but i'm thinking more along the lines that it would be better to be sure you dont have any contamination, otherwise you risk being sued when some monsanto guy sneaks on your farm and takes samples... Hopefully that scenario would never happen, but supposedly it has happened already to other people... so who knows...
