Steps on soapbox:
I was excited to get some watermelon yesterday. Even a little excited to collect some seeds to plant as well. ...But they were seedless watermelons..... argh. WHY? WHY? Are there really that many people who are spoiled enough to "need" seedless watermelon? The flavour was pretty bland for a watermelon. I want the seeded watermelons back!!!
The seeded ones have so much more taste to them, and i dont understand why you would go to all the trouble of spraying chemicals to create tetraploid and cross it with a diploid to get a sterile triploid... It just seems like a lot of work for what ends up being a really crappy watermelon. It's just wrong!
...I actually liked having seed spitting contests in the summer...
Ends rant and steps off soapbox.

Not only that, but it's damaging to the watermelon gene pool. With the populaity of seedless melons, breeding efforts for seeded melons have diminished.

See, this is the real reason the bees are disappearing. They are simply fed up with human stupidity so they've packed up the queens, pollen, and honey and they are moving to a different planet!
