Someone recently sent me gobs of open pollinated F5 seed that originally started out as Kandy Korn. I've screened it for homozygous sugary enhanced kernels and didn't find any, so it appears at this point to be normal sweet corn (with perhaps a small percent of the se gene left). I'll do a more intense screening at planting time.
I've set aside all I want to plant and screen, and have lots of seed left over. If anyone wants some send me a personal message.

We grew some KK a couple years ago. Mike was not all that impressed. He's the super sweet corn lover, but I think I'm converting him.

I remember seeing some place selling an open pollinated version of Kandy Korn they had another name for it, but I can't remember the name or figure out where it was for sale, I wonder if they kept the se DNA more...

I got ours from a local feed/grain store on the far side of town. Not where I usually go. They source their seed from Wyatt-Quarles.
