I noticed a thread called "Eating Real Food" on idig today in the food politics section. I'm not sure if i've shared this video with you before, but i think many of you will like it, so i'm reproducing my response here. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSeSTq-N4U4)

Not all carbs are the same. It's not necessarily the processed carbs from grains, it's the sugar (more specifically the fructose) which is extremely dangerous. If you watch the video i posted you will hear from a doctor explain scientifically about how fructose poisons the liver exactly like alcohol. And how even fruit juice is making your kids fat. Carbohydrates are very important to keep you healthy, but sugar is the wrong kind.
Dr. Lustig also illustrated very well how "low fat" products are actually "high sugar" products, and therefore are actually HIGH FAT products. Evil isn't it? To find out that low fat products are actually high fat.
I probably could have put this thread in the one i started a while back that was titled "false advertising". It also kind of reminds me of Josephs aversion to THE CORPORATION. But in this case it's just bad science combined with heavy lobbying and a corrupt FDA which is THE CORPORATION in this context. ...well... I guess Dr. Lustig does talk about what he calls "The CocaCola Conspiracy", so i guess there is some conspiracy stuff thrown in there just for you Joseph.
