Record temps predicted for us the next two days ... low 80s (28C-29C)... that's about 25 degrees above normal ... grass is growing ... all the daffodils and hyacinths are in full bloom ... weeds are taking off in my too-wet-to-cultivate gardens ... brambles are flourishing ... grapes are budding out ... AND IT'S MID-MARCH!!! (Joseph, note use of apostrophe in "IT'S")
It's supposed to be dry (received another downpour thunderstorm late this afternoon) and sunny next three days. Am hoping to get into the garden Thursday afternoon and work until dark. Rain forecast for Friday, Saturday and Sunday ... sigh.

I'm scrambling to get in our peas and snow peas, and am wilting in the heat. The ground is dry and needs water! Normally we have a few feet of snow to moisten things up at this time of year. Last frost is May 15ish and the weather channel claims that today was 25C. Our thermometer is claiming 28. We didn't have this type of temperature last year until July. Two weeks ago we had a blizzard and our main road was closed. We're getting ready for our late "winter" vacation. Who says we have 4 seasons?

Our weather has just been nuts. Today (Tuesday) we had 85F (29.4C). More than 40F above average. This is a July temperature! Got my first mosquito bite on Monday, the last day of Winter. Had a turtle in Mom's backyard. Saw my first Bumblebee on Tuesday. Before midnight tonight, we were still at 64F (17.8C).

No styrofoam i mean snow or frost here this morning,a mild night with a min temp of 15C,think layer of wave cloud caused by wind coming over the nearby Southern Alps which produced the most loveliest of red sunrises.
Going to be a great gardening today, just me and my garden as my wife and kids are off doing there sports ;D ;D

Weather has been perfect here for weeks. Nice Bright and sunny and 76F outside. I'm getting ready to plant peas soon. If i didn't know any better I'd say it would even be warm enough to plant watermelon, but we usually get a spring frost around May 10th, so i will probably only risk planting cool season crops like peas and carrots.

We have had beautiful weather with the exception of Saturday....2.5" of rain in the afternoon. It's been a warm winter and now spring....we took the girls swimming in the Santa Fe river on Friday! (It's a great way to beat the heat! + it's free!) The tomatoes are starting to bloom but the bugs are beginning to move too! Oh well....

ohh, I'd love to go swimming. I should have been an otter. I wish this was a scratch and sniff so that you could all be accosted by this wee vine. Leo has forbidden me planting anymore flowering vines, unless they make fruit. Except for berry vines....I'll post some photos in his defense. Attachments:
