The soil I've been working up to eliminate weeds seemed good and rain promised, so Saturday I put in a patch of hulless oats and another of rye, don't know variety of either. I'd have rather planted both in early December, but the rain was just not on track. It may be just as well, having had the chance to really eliminate the weeds. I don't really need that ground until June or so.

Steev, Let me know how this does. I was just whining that I had 7 more grain varieties to have planted that didn't get done. (Well, I ran out of ground). Maybe next year...says the farmer and her spouse.

Yeah, yeah; I won't mention how many grains I have that won't be planted for this year. I just had the space, was itching to plant something, and don't feel real concerned about these. Worst case, I'll get the seed back and a little data.
