Are you reporting on your spouse, or paraphrasing the nursery rhyme?

Raining well in Oakland right now; reports show rain also on the farm; yay!

Starting to get that autumn feeling now with colder nights with a light frost yesterday morning,so that means we had a light frost each of the three summer months

The reports of rain on the farm were clearly mistaken. It is, however, obviously Spring; ten new kids for the nearest neighbors: nine to their goat herd, one to their youngest daughter.

Year-to-date here is looking like the driest on record. Sonoma, nearby North, would normally expect to have gotten 12" by now, but it's only gotten 1" so far, this year.
Here in Oakland, having had a hugely rainy early season, we're now 4" below normal, the rain having simply shut off in late December.

Well and here it is dry dry and drier. But with the barometer pegged at 30, I don't suspect a change in sight. Attachments:

Oh, well. gardeners are optimists by nature, so I'll plant more stuff on the farm this week-end, trusting in the prognosis of rain Tues/Weds.

We had approximately 5 minutes worth of snow flurries earlier today, making a total of an hour and 20 minutes this season. No accumulation, of course. What I wouldn't give for 72 hours without coming above freezing... Tonight is predicted to be the third this winter with overnight lows below freezing. Saturday had highs in the 40s; a good day for heavy work outside without too much sweat, which was why I chose it for taking down trees. Sunday promises the same. Hoping to finish weeding my raised beds, plant some peas, and mow the winter weeds in the yard before taking a nap and going in to work at midnight.
