a friend gave me a few seeds that are marked German Johnson, i looked them up on the web. Just wondering what anyone thinks of them? Have you grown them?

It is very popular in North Carolina, I always grow a few because some folks have to grow them. In my opinion, a relatively bland tasting fruit on a very productive plant. I only grow it to increase seed.

On one hand, they're popular enough that Bonnie has started bringing transplants to the big box retailers in spring, along with German Queen. On the other, they don't bring many, and I don't actually know anyone who just has to have them. Never grown them myself, so I can't speak from experience.
