I'm sick of growing wheat for green cropping that don't get any taller waist height where something that gets much taller i think would be better as the whole idea of green cropping is achieving a maximum amount of carbon over a given area. It doesn't matter whether its Rye,wheat oats or barley as long as it can handle winter frosts of -9Cdeg on free draining soil Anyone know what are the more suitable varieties for this purpose

My feral winter rye grows around 6 feet tall. The feral winter wheat grows about 3 feet tall. They were collected growing wild in a wheat farming district. I haven't measured which generates more biomass. The rye competes better with weeds.
