Tsakoniki is a favorite of mine. It really pumps out fruit here. I love Rosa Bianca too. I'm only growing three varieties this year, Udmalbet, Viserba, and a Korean one. Udmalbet makes a lot of fruit too, but they are small. I need to stick to large varieties as I love grilling eggplant so much.

Almost time for sowing eggplants here. Diamond did very well here last season so I think that will be back. I have a lot of old seed of various varieties so I might as well sow them. If I end up with lots of plants I can just give them away.

As it was the first day of spring yesterday and a nice warm day, I sowed my eggplant seeds. I’ve only ever grown them once before, one called Turkish Orange, and I can’t remember whether I enjoyed it or not, but it did look good. When I decided to try growing some again this year I had a hard time making a choice, so bought everything I liked the look of and have ended up with Tadifi, Rosita, Applegreen, Aramugam’s, Aswad, Edirne Purple Stripe and Rosa Bianca. I think that was all – not sure if I had Udmalbet too, or just remember reading about it. I’ll worry about where to put them when (if?) they all come up.

I've only tried Roas Bianca on your list Ally. A nice eggplant though a bit long season for me.
