The birds didn't know it wasn't natural. It has been like that for many bird generations. All the trumpeter swans and bald eagles have come and flourished. This is my parent's driveway.

It was sprinkling an hour ago in El Cerrito; they predict ~1/4"-1/2" overnight around here, with a considerably heavier storm on the week-end; hope it's not just another PT (Precipitation Teaser).

It's been raining an hour or so, here in Oakland; not heavy, but steady and welcome.

Still raining lightly, here; radar reports it doing the same on the farm, though not so steady.

Good news, may you get truck lots. Supposed to receive a light fall of rain here over the next 48 hours which will be the first rain this year.

It's very wet in the UK. Last week there was standing water just across the lane from my plot; that's gone but I'm still wading about in mud.

-7 F at 1:53 P.M.
Bright and sunny.
I wonder if any bad bugs are taking a hit with the cold weather.

I certainly hope you are right about the bugs, RpR. It would be nice if something good comes from all of this sub-zero cold, to offset the horrendous heating bills. At this point I'm just wondering what kind of a Spring we will have... can't wait until it gets here.

It's been light rain in Oakland since ~dawn, expected through Sunday.
Radar says it's coming down buckets on the farm! I may skip going tomorrow, but I'd much rather have the rain than my recreational work.

Stopped raining in Oakland; occasional downpours predicted for Sat and rain Sun.
Depending on the radar, I'll decide whether to spend the gas to go to the farm in the morning; truthfully, I'm itching to see how wet it's got; sopping, I hope.
Woops! There's the rain, back. Yee-ha!

Let the stormy clouds chase everyone from the place! So far just light showers, but by God it feels good!

Yesterday a trace of rain to add to January's trace. This is supposed to be our rainy season. After a week of daytime temps not rising above freezing--unnatural for us so close to Mexico--we're back to sun and long t-shirt weather and digging in the dirt.

Looks like this wonderfully extensive storm system is passing; I'll check the radar in the morning, to see whether I'll go to the farm, might take some seedlings, just in case.
I'll consult Mister Spade to see how wet the soil is; maybe next week I can seed Spring grains!
I'll check to see how hard it is to pound in T-posts; I've really got to expand the cages around my outlier trees, so I can heavily mulch them without the horses eating the mulch or the elk trashing the trees. My shoulders just aren't what they once were; ten whacks is OK, twenty is not; this getting old is getting old.
