Just starting a thread to talk about this unusual corn. Anyone here growing it this year?

I haven't grown it, but would like to. Fedco seeds has it at 1900 degree days. Wish they sold in less than a 5 # package. Maybe I'll ask them for a smaller pack if I get down there this year.

Isn't this a silage corn? Dar, you got squeak and didn't tell?

It is a multi-use open pollinated corn with elevated protein levels. You can do a search and find quite a bit of info about it. Fedco is a source. If anyone is interested, I'll get a pack and share it around.

Okay, I read that Victor liked this corn. 11% protein. And makes good pancakes. Okay, Dar you've never steered me wrong yet. I got one more patch I haven't earmarked (or chinmarked). I was thinking of Navajo Robin's Egg shop.nativeseeds.org/collections/corn-flour/products/zf013As you can never have too much flour corn. The Cherokee White Flour was soooo good. I love the Florianni, without a doubt just a great polenta corn. This year I've freed myself from sweet corn. My neighbor about a mile away is putting in 6 acres of sweet corn, so why bother? I'd much rather have the grain corn. Send me what you think you can spare, for a good seed crop. But I keep hearing over and over again about this corn.

I'm interested, but I already have too many corns that I can't plant out, space and water-wise. I'll wait for Holly's expert appraisal; another list to put me at the bottom of.
