OTF, 0.3" rain this weekend; first snow on the Coast Peaks.

Working in the ag=chem industry, it occurred to me that people should have to live near the plant in proportion to the money they make from it; ie: the CEO should live next door, not some poor shmuck who can't afford a less offensive environment.

As well you should.

Seems there was another heavy wind storm OTF; the veggie-corral gate was knocked down and broken (sun-decayed zip-ties and PVC tubing, no biggie); I'll get the fittings and repair it next weekend; luckily(?), I've nothing growing that Bambi can damage. Wish it would rain; it's 5-7 weeks overdue with our heavy rains; Spring is never as productive.

Another rainless week. Had Sukie at the vet's for six months 'cause they couldn't get the parts, things being shut down for covid; now can't take her out for a canter 'cause the soil is still concrete; I begin to despair of a winter crop; damn, I've got Alliums and Brassicas I want in the ground. This is when we "normally" get our heavy storms; luckily, this is all a climate-change hoax, so it must be a hallucination.

Too cold to sit out nights OTF in a T-shirt; rain is 4-6 weeks late.

Oxheart is my go-to carrot; plenty of tender, sweet carrot there.

Sukie's out of the "vet's", so I'm waiting for rain to take her out for a trot; I hope to get a lot planted for Winter, having had little planted for so long; looking to Spring as well.

All weekend OTF cold, blustery NNW wind; yuck. Nonetheless, clearly Fall is here; can't sit out sky-watching in a T-shirt; closed the windows in the pump-house; actually one of my favorite seasons.

Yes; it turns out what I thought was feral wheat OTF is rye; that's cool; it grows OTF with no input from me, so I'll spread it and harvest it for chow for me or critters. Free food is not to be distained. Gotta spread the seeds of patience dock around before the rains come.

My sweetheart has two cats but she treats them like they're little furry people, so they're very stand-offish; one must treat cats like CATS, making it clear that you're their mama (cats don't have relationships with their dad) and therefore you're the boss: pick them up when it suits you, feed them regularly, let them curl up with you when you're sitting or sleeping, and groom them frequently (that's petting; you needn't use your tongue unless that's your kink; whatever floats your boat, bloats your goat, or coats your throat); raise a kitten that way and it's gonna looove you.

In Cali, we get a lot of grasses which dry by June, with no rain until late October, at the earliest, but lightning can start in July; once the rains start, these grasses get knocked down and decay.

Actually, I think we're in the pre-apocalypse; the beast is yet to come.
