The fix seems to involve a lot of technical gobbledygook so I am going to test another forum platform.

Ok, I see that there is a problem when I also try to sign in with a new account. I will try to find out where the problem is.

Ok, thanks I will try to find out why you couldn't sign up for an account. What sort of message did you get? I might have to get some help for more knowledgeable people on how to move info over.

Ok, I might regret spending a years worth of hosting if it is all talk and no-one actually wants it, but... I have started a new forum for amateur breeders. You can find it here: 192.145.233.47/~foodga6/ but the domain will be www.foodgardenproject.com when the DNS propagates, hopefully within another 24 hours. Check it out, make an account and make some posts. it will still need a bit of tweaking but I think it is a good start. If people actually want to join this new forum then I will need a couple more moderators so we don't get the situation that has happened here again. And yes, you can directly post images.

I have to differ in my opinion. I am on a heap of FB groups, and yes, the instant responses are great but it doesn't make up for the ease of making longer posts and thoughts in a forum like this. I find these sorts of forums much easier to use and more enjoyable to read and participate in.

Not many diploids will store for more than a few weeks let along months but it would be good to get some selected for longer storage.

The seed from the original planting was just as bad and I didn't want to risk it continuing which is why I crossed it. I guess it should have got better with time though.

Be aware that the Pusa Asita seed that I originally got had terrible germination and I had to cross it with Purple Dragon to get the germination up, then just keep culling to get back the black right through and purple flowers back. I was nearly there when I lost my seed. And, the juice stains everything, I had a friend take some to dye fabric and it turned out beautiful.

I have become disappointed with recreational fishing for just the same reason. Even though the recreational fishing association here in Aus recommends immediate humane killing, and has instructions for various ways of doing it on their website, most people don't. At least it is mandatory under cruelty laws for humane killing in all our fish farms where all fish are electrically stunned, but humane slaughter for ocean caught fish is only voluntary.
After the extensive scientific study a couple of years ago or so that showed conclusively that fish feel pain, I personally don't think there is any excuse for not enforcing more humnane handling.

I was growing a black carrot called 'Pusa Asita' but I lost the lot this past wither to rot. I have always overwintered in the ground but it was just too cold and wet this year I sowed all my seed so I can't even grow them again as you can't import carrot seed into Aus now.

I am sure that beets, turnips, and radishes are swollen roots (the taproot), not stems. I am not sure where you get that info from - or maybe I have had it wrong all my life.

I know I should post more but although I look at what is being posted and commented on, most of the projects being discussed are outside my main interests and I have nothing constructive to add to the conversations. That said, I do find that I have most to say during my growing season which is when you are all basically down for the winter.

Hey thanks. I know I don't update my blog nearly enough during the winter, but there is so little to talk about this time of year when everything is basically hibernating. It won't be long before I will be posting regularly. I will check my link, thanks.
