Thought I'd mention that the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station at Lockwood Farm in Hamden CT is having their plant science day on August 1st. I've been to their programs in past years, and it's an awesome day. Ongoing compost experiments, info on things like Sudden Oak Death, and lots of presentations. This year the lectures that interested me are the "What Is Happening To Our Honeybees?" and the "Are Plant Pathogens Causing Salt Marsh Dieback?" ones. It's a free day, there are many activities, and lots of plant identifier booths, insect info, including natural IPMs, and FOOD. Plus you get to tour the farm, which is a terrific place. the info is at www.ct.gov/caes
