It's that time of year again! Landis Valley is hosting the Herb faire on Mother's Day weekend (Friday and Saturday). Admission is six dollars. There will be a TON of plant venders and craft venders there. If you're anywhere near it, don't miss out on this one!

Well, I only had about half an hour to spend there (long story, short moral), so I grabbed the 'mater plants I needed and headed out, but the place was packed! The parking lot, which ain't exactly small, was overflowing at ten-thirty Friday morning. There were people everywhere! I picked up two Howard German plants, two Oxhearts, and one each of Green Zebra, Black Brandywine, the Dutchman, and German Red Strawberry.
It would have been great to spend more time there, but as it was, I'm glad I could get my plants! I was pretty desperate for them, since I learned a very important lesson this year: never, never, NEVER, make paper pots out of computer printout paper! All of my transplants are severely stunted, to the point that I'm not sure they'll recover!

Andy, you aren't alone. I'm still experiencing problems from the computer paper pots I made, and I used white jetprinter paper, NOT the green lined spreadsheet stuff you used. But now we know, right!! And I'm having a terrible time with the seeds I planted of The Dutchman?? But if I get One, just one plant to grow, then at least I will be able to try the fruit. That's all that matters in the long run. We'll hopefully be able to compare notes on them.
