I'm reading Planetary Plantings by Louise Riotte (fascinating btw). She makes repeated references to a few seed companies and varieties of seed. Any idea what became of these companies and the varieties they developed/supplied ?? Farmer Seed Co Burgess Seed

Burgess is still around.. although i beleive they're more into nursery items nowadays. Farmers seed company i don't know about.
I have quite a few of burgess' old tomato varieties. My favorite so far is Imp colossal crimson. The regular Burgess Colossal Crimson is supposedly extinct already.. but i'm still looking. There'd be way to many varieties from burgess to list in here, but if you'd like a list of the tomatoes i have from their old varieties, i could probably get ya a list. I really liked the burgess lemon too... that one may still be around.
Sorry i couldn't have been more help.

Thanks AG! It's more the info on the varieties than seeds themselves that I'm looking at for now. You were more help than you realize. But I will go back through her tomato tips pages to see which she recommended and let you know.
