Yes, I did check out Idig this am, and saw that he had a post deleted. Funny, he hadn't posted here for a while, but now he spews this shit. Funny that a guy like this is offended by piss, damn, fuck, etc, but can say something like that. Posts like this show just what kind of person he is.

You know Winter Unfazed, Ghetto Lingo is one thing, one thing I can't stand along with bull shit like LOL, IDK, and all that bullshit, However the dialect that your currently making fun of runs deep, its a southern dialouge, a throwback to tradition and heritage, a tradition and heritage just as deep as anything that you have ever heard or experienced.
I've spent a good deal of my life being made fun of because of my dialect, let me tell you something, it's not all that funny.
Let me explain it to you in a simple equasion.
Dialect=Culture=Beauty
Do you think your forefathers, do you think the settlers, do you think the people that came to this country and settled it spoke English as you speak. I'm not just talking about the ones who wrote the declaration, I'm talking about the commoners, the blacksmiths, the horse shoers, the gunsmiths, the ones that really made the whole thing work, 'cause let me tell you, they didn't.
Let me tell you what brother, there may not be a whole lot of books written in that dialect, but there are certainly passages in books written like that, and if it wasn't for that dialect being ever present in the recordings of Robert Johnson, Skip James, and Son House, Rock and Roll would be non-existant.
Now, if you would like to critisize Obama or Wrigth, that's one thing, but your not going to be allowed to make veiled, Racist comments, hell I'm not even sure you realize what you just said is racist, you do understand that dialect is an important part of culture?
Sometimes I feel it's important to learn humility, so I'm going to let your sorry little post stand momentarilly, and then It will join the list as only the second ever to be deleted. I feel sometimes it's important to let a person tie his own hanging rope and let them swing for a bit so they learn a lesson and I'm about to teach you one.
In this way everyone will see how immature you are, or if your as mature as you believe, they will see how ignorant you are.

Thank you Winter Unfazed for being man enough to see when it is time to be humble.

After seeing his new post, Alan, I don't think he's being too humble...but still, the diatribe is gone.

Bring back the rotary phone so we don't have to press "1" for English

Doggone it - I missed it! Wonder if he enjoyed his humble pie.....
Just like you, Alan - I have also suffered the indignities of people making fun of the way we southern folks talk. People have assumed that just because we have that "dialect", we must be ignorant, barefooted and married to a close relative....

You know, northerners get made fun of in the south. I spent a summer in Alabama, working for my kind- of uncle in a restaurant he bought. Gracious southern folk would say 'Say somethin, we wanna hear you talk'! They laughed their asses off one time when I said 'Do any of you guys want more to drink?' Funny thing is, here in southern IN we are made fun of by anyone north of Bloomington because they all think we talk like hicks. I guess sometimes you just can't win.

My friend and I got called Yankees in Atlanta. And it wasn't in a nice way either. But since we are from New Yawk, we really didn't give a shit. lol My BIL is an electrician. Since he moved here from NC, he has had trouble finding work. It really is due to his accent.
Somehow, I am glad I missed this original post.
