Apologies for bad joke

I had the following as my signature on this forum for a while:

Did you hear about how the Catholic Church excommunicated those two women who tried to become priests? Gosh, I wonder what they'll do to Kim...she wants to become a Bishop!

Someone (who apparently didn't get the joke) complained about it. I could have left it, but I changed it because apparently not everyone understood it. I hope neither of the individuals in question were bothered by it; it was just a pun.

That is the way I understood it, Jeffery. But if you know Alan well enough do do it, why not? I think the writing in red was the most offensive part of the joke that color tends to make people cringe...

It is more a matter of being friendly enough with the person to do something like that, and I have no clue if it's the case or not, you are the judge on that one.
