Lav, your Musquee de Provence squash is throwing me what looks like a very big butternut squash plant. Just one, the others look true to type, as far as I can see. It will be very interesting to see...

Weird... well, I guess it's good I told everyone I sent it to that it was from a store bought fruit! Is it growing off the same plant that is giving you regular looking Musquees? I don't think I have any butternut squash I could have stuck in the package by mistake.
Like I said... weird! Anyone else I sent these to get odd fruit?

Pollination can be only partial in squashes. some pollen grains from a different"bee" produced different seeds, that's all there is to it!!!
There is no need for bag mixing or whatever else for this to happen, it is frequent.
