I went to a fair today that is a little less than 1/2 way between our farm and Michel's town. A lot of folks from the Ottawa area frequent this particular fair. I was actually wondering why I didn't see Michel there or his name on any entries? ;)Mebbe next year? I didn't enter anything this year either. But to be honest, the weather has been so wet and cool that the crop pavilion was a shadow of it's usual self. There were some lovely entries, but not nearly as many as usual. There were no Giant Pumpkins at all. And the giant veggies in general weren't as large or as plentiful as in previous years. But there were enough to show that people did their best they could, weather permitting. Here's some of the fabulous entries by Juniors. The category states that the figure must be Named. It doesn't state after who or what. What the School Bus Driver looks like when she sees Me: (I just adore this one!) A SelfPortrait: Grandpa Plays the Fiddle: There were other great entries. Pie Pumpkins that were Perfection themselves. And the squash were quite lovely, although none were odd varieties like we grow on this forum. For the first time that I can think of, an Ornamental Pepper placed as a Foliage Plant in the horticultural displays. Well worth the drive.

The one with the fiddle is very creative. Wow, not one giant pumpkin? Sad.. I think Mike should enter some weird stuff next yr. Maybe the Queensland Blue or Galeaux d'Eysines Pumpkin.

Where is the fair you are talking about? I never participated actively in any, but you sure interests me here. I always complaint I am alone, it would be a great way to make contacts and meet people sharing my interests...and you too Michel
