What are your favorites? Personally I love the flavor of habaneros. There are many I have yet to taste, so I am curious about which ones have the best flavor. For a mild hot pepper I like the peppercino ones.

I guess I am a wimp, hot peppers are not for me. I am growing several bells and banana pepper this year, along with one called Big Jim. I hope it is not too hot.
I have read there is a jalapeno variety that is not hot. I would like to try that one next year. Also I think I will plant Anaheim next year as it is good for chili rellenos and chili con queso.

Nice, very nice. Where can you get these seeds? That would be great to get a pepper plant that looks this good, and to get flavorful and hot peppers.

Absolutely Stunning! I screwed up last year when the opportunity to buy a plant was reduced to clear and I didn't snap it up.... I'll know better next time when I see one for sale.

Mike, there are numerous versions of unhot chilies; that is, types that normally are hot but which lack the pungency. You can get Jalapenos, Habaneros & other C. chinense, and unhot varieites of C. baccatum.
What you gain is the underlying flavors of those peppers, but without the blistering heat. For instance, Habaneros generally have a smoky, tropical fruit flavor. Baccatums have a citrusy taste.
Personally, I'm not big on Jalapenos. Once you take the heat away from them all that's left is a sort of green taste. Imagine a green bell pepper without the sugar.
Returning to the basic question, my list of faves would stretch forever. But at the top of the list would be any of the baccatums, Yellow Squash Pepper (a Shaker heirloom), Sinahuisa (a Serrano-like chili from northern Mexico), and Pablano. Although habs are OK, I much prefer Chinchi Uchu among the C. chinense.

Mike, the Jalapeno without heat is called 'Fooled You' hybrid. I grew them last year and loved 'em. The next step up in heat is the TAM Mild Jalapeno.
I think my favorite flavor hot pepper is Habanero, but I really can't stand the heat. I've been trying for years to get Trinidad Seasoning Pepper to germinate because they are supposed to have the same flavor without the heat, but no luck. I'm going to try another similar one next year.
My favorite mid-heat pepper so far is Anaheim, but I'm looking forward to trying Big Jim.

Some favorite sweets are Jimmy Nardello and Franks (a new one I just got to try this year and am finally starting to harvest -- really nice).
For mild heat, I really, really like Beaver Dam.
Seasoning - Trinidad Perfume or Tobago Sweet Scotch Bonnet.
Hots - Martinique, Billy Goat

Suze, where did you get the seeds for the Billy Goat Peppers? I love Pepperocini and hot cherry peppers. I also like the Hungarian Wax.
Bill, that pepper is so cool looking. The purple flowers are interesting too.

Suze, where did you get the seeds for the Billy Goat Peppers? Original seed was from a Seed Savers Exchange request I made a couple of years ago.
