I chekced my kennebec, Irish cobbler, yukon gold, and red pontiac today and they are finally starting to push out of the ground. A neigbor gave me an extra 100 lbs of red pontiac that he had left from the winter, they were already very well sprouted so I put them in the ground the other day and they are already dong nicely.

That's a lot of potatoes, Alan. How many acres do you farm?

What's the average yield per hill, does anyone know? A customer said on Wednesday that he planted far too many last year. He got an average of 17 lbs per hill and planted 100 bag. Gave them away to family and friends and still had too many to eat over the winter. I planted maybe 5 lbs and have no idea what the yield (by weight) ended up being? Maybe 20 lbs??
