I bought 6 really beautiful deep red/orange/yellow lantana for a buck a pot at the farmers market today plus a flashy coleus. The coleus and 3 lantana will go into an old iron cauldron (has a big hole in the bottom) that already has snapdragons and some red flower. The other two will go into a hanging basket, I believe with some amazing blue convalousa (aka morning glory but this is better looking than any morning glory I have seen). One lantana I sold to a friend who dropped by who las year introduced me to the flowering plant.
All of these flowers will go on the porch of our farm store to brighten things up

Sounds like a lovely arrangement. I'm not familiar with Lantana, but I'll look it up later. Last year I put a two tone geranium in the centre of a 12" pot, surrounded it with coleus and added 3 or 4 white snaps per pot (made 2 the same). The geraniums are blooming again right now, and have bloomed off and on all winter long in my westerly bay window. The snaps even bloomed for a while back in March/April. You could probably do the same when summer is over and transplant them to a good sized pot to add some colour to your windows inside the house during those cold, dreary winter days.. I was sooo thrilled to have the snapdragons bloom in winter, especially after being told by some coworkers that they are difficult to keep going in pots.

Ohiorganic - that sounds really pretty! I love the way Lantana looks, and combining it with a blue like that morning glory you mentioned is probably stunning! Post a pic if you get the chance.
Blue - I have never understood people's difficulty with snapdragons. I've found that even in containers they're very forgiving. Also, I was walking down the drive today, to an area that I'm not covering in any more gravel, and has gotten a little overgrown. What was growing in the middle of the old gravel but a bright lemon yellow snapdragon!!! Weird, as I haven't ever planted yellow snapdragons here. I'm sure it's probably a throw back seed from some hybrid color I had last year, although they were all pink, if I remember correctly. They must be pretty tough, if they're willing to grow up in the rocks on an area we regularly park on!

Is it really small? There are wild ones here that are about a third of the size of a cultivated variety, and they are yellow..

Do you mean was the stem short? Or do you mean were the blooms themselves small? Or both? The blossoms were pretty good sized, actually, but the stem was a little shorter than the ones I've bought in a pony pak.

Blossoms are small, so we can't be talking about the same thing?

LG, the wild one has a very small flower. I let it grow in one area. I like it

I think this must have just been a wayward seed, then, because these blossoms were definitely as big, if not bigger, than the last snaps I bought at the store.
