I was reading one of Jerry Baker's books last night. He says crepe myrtle can be propagated by taking cuttings in the fall and planting them approximately six inches in the ground in a shady area. By spring they will have rooted and can be moved to a permanent location.
Has anyone ever tried this.

A good site I have gone to for information on propagating and alot more. Mike McGroaty is the man's name. His site is below. www.freeplants.com/resellers.htmIt is a wealth of information. I made the root starting box out of the aquarium and also used one gallon milk jugs cut about 3 inches from the bottom, all the way around . Then I pushed the top of the bottle over the bottom lip. It worked just like the aquarium and could be moved alot easier.
