OK, I searched but didn't find this popping up so if there is already a thread, forgive me! I was very impressed with the version of Chiapas wild tomato that I grew from Salt Spring Seeds this year only it doesn't exactly match the description that I've read. For example, it is supposed to be orange. Maybe I'm a bit colour blind but I'd call it red. It is indeed currant sized and piercingly sweet even in the slightly underripe stage. The vines are not very contained, giant waving octopus monster would be more appropriate. It needs a heavy duty trellis and prolific - hoo boy! You won't be without cherry tomatoes for salad once it gets going. What I found most interesting was that it drops from the vine when ripe but remains good for quite few days on the ground and it holds onto its stem quite well. ie. doesn't crack when picked like some currant (ony currant speices?) sized tomatoes. This is the first year I've grown it but it did well in my garden. Anyhow, I have some seeds if anyone is interested (not huge quantities but enough to fill a few spots).

Several SSE members list it in Tomato, Other Species. Only color mentioned is red.

Mike, course you can be in on the club ;-)
Martin: Guess I'm not colourblind afterall. The description of the seed company where I bought the tomato and another description says 'orange' so I figured that maybe there was a tomato orange that was different from conception of orange 'cause to me, it's red.
Telsing.

Hi, I have heard of this variety, apparently is it indeed really sweet. I am a new gardener and would love to try 😊 do you still have some seeds? Thank you very much, Maeva
