Oooooh la la! So nice to see a magical discussion. ahhhh, I love it! NightMist, if you don't have this website, I suggest this as an excellent source for healing or "magickal" uses of herbs. The man's a genius, and could actually discuss with me the difference between seeded comfrey and bocking 14. Took me over 10 years to even find someone who knew the difference, let alone sold me viable seed. Richo is THE man. Oh yeah, Horizon is defininitely on my go to list! Since we cannot grow everything, here are a couple of favorite shops for quality and the smarts of the owners: www.maya-ethnobotanicals.com/*Papa removed by request* Both Maurice and Papa Jim know their stuff. They are good people and responsible vendors. Got a growing query, but I'm going to start a fresh thread for it.

Night, please remove the second link from your post. There is no way we are promoting a site that sells voodoo & santeria supplies. Thanks

NightMist - thanks for the Maya link. Thought I had good sources, but this site really has some very cool stuff, very extensive list. Looks like good quality, too.

I don't want you to leave. And we can talk about any plants you want. But we try to keep the religious things to a minimum here. And that was not really a "plant" site. Personally, I find both religions interesting. I learned alot about Santeria from my neighbors when I lived in NYC. They would get me the best incense and herbs at the botanica. The only thing I don't like is the slaughter of an innocent animal for any deity. It's unnecessary in my opinion.

Cool. I had to go back and look at Papa's site, and that did leave me a mite bewildered. I asked hubby what was what, and he tells me that Papa Jim has retired and gone fishing, finally. He has been threatening it for years. So the site and the shop are under new management, which would explain the profusion of ready made. His book is still one of the best for magical herbals focusing on what you can gather in the south. So far as blood sacrifice, blood is what makes the plants grow. You find that at the roots of a whole lot of religions in the world. But the philosophies of life and death and sacrifice are a discussion for a whole 'nother forum.

Shipping can be a bit up there depending on what is what in the world, but I have always found the quality to be excellent. His wife does natural dying, so we get sucked into the shop on a lot of levels. ;D
