Did you know- that Tennessee Ernie Ford- a famous USA folk singer- once wrote and sung a song called.
(I will pluck your heart strings in pea picking times) ;D

No but now I'm curious. My kids are my biggest helpers. They actually enjoy shelling dry peas (and eating the unripe ones) for seed saving. They will also do beans and prefer it when I grow colourful seeds which they just call 'rainbow' beans.

I started writing a song a while back about Gregor Mendel and his peas. If/when I get round to finishing I'll post a link to an mp3 so anyone who wants to can listen.
I was writing it to go on my second album but then I found I had enough tracks already, so the pea song will have to be held over to the third.

I look forward to it Rebsie, for anyone who does not yet have Rebsie's album I highly suggest it. She does a cover of Pink Floyd's "Julia Dream" that is amazing!
