Hi, Glad I found this site. ;D
I have been raising worms for the last 2-3 years,,,,started out with 5 worms i got from a friend,,,I now have 3 large plastic tubs..I keep the top on the tubs with holes for ventilation...lately my worm are trying to get out...mainley because they are getting too wet.Probably fron too much moisture because I have a top on them..will they crawl out if I leave the top off?? There is no light on at night..I have to dry them up or I will loose them...what can I do? I have NEVER added water to them because they are too wet

The water is in the food. I would add lots of dry matter, like shredded newspaper or peat moss. Cut on wet stuff for a while. Yes, if the medium is not appropriate for them they could try to get out. One way to take care of it is by circling you boxes with copper, it will give them a small electric shock when their wet bodies come in contact with it. Some thin craft sheet of copper or even electrical wires striped of their coating would do it.

Shredded newspaper with soy ink, leaves, and straw are all good options. I would put a light over them and take the lid off, lay a piece of plastic or paper over the soil to make the worms more comftorable, the worms are fairly resilient so even if you loos several, more yet will live and the eggs themselves will not be affected.
I hope this helps friend.
