I have this, I think I grew it from seed years ago. It didn't bloom in that huge plume I had seen in pictures, and it is very prickly to work around. Leaves get pretty beat up, really not attractive enough for the ornamental garden. So, I dug it up to get rid of it. Yeah, right. It really looked like I got all of the root, but I have lots of it now. Any uses for it? I can't imagine eating it. Or maybe my seed source had it listed wrong? I haven't read anything about it's pricklyness that I remember. If anyone in my local area wants a start, you are welcome to stop by, I don't have seeds for it because I don't let it have a chance to flower. I can hacking at it, but it just won't die.....Karen

It did flower, just not the frothy masses of blooms that I had seen pictured. I think it is much too course looking to be placed in the flower garden if you don't have much space. If you had a wide border where you could place it in the very back it might be ok. I may dig up a few pieces and place it in my 'driveway border' and see what it does.
