In order to make it easier for people to find your blogs, you can go into your profile and add your blog address so that it will show up under each of your posts. I think it would probably increase your traffic it if were easier for people to just click the link. Karen

Good idea Karen. I hadn't put mine in because I didn't want people to think I was just here to plug my websites but I guess people might find it useful to have a link there. And it's a good way to keep track of whose blog is who's ...

The crowd is pretty open and fraternal here, Rebsie, and we know that many conversations we have here, above most people capacity to comprehend, areoften relayed in simpler terms by blogs, so they are more than welcomed. And it is nice to put ours eyes on other pages and formats sometimes ;D

I don't know why Canada Mike doesn't have a blog. How about it Mike??? You have so much info to share, it would be nice to see everything in one place. So often when there are posts that I am interested in, I am too busy or lazy at the time to implement an idea. But if it were all in a blog it would be easier to go back and refer to. Come on now, you know you are bored right now, what better way to kill time til spring than organizing all those photos and notes in a blog?

You probably don't know, but Alan and I often exchange over the phone. I have made a commitment to him to help develop the forum, the arrival of our international friends here is, in a way, a proof of that. Being here often is time consuming enough for me. ALAN and I often discuss growth strategies, who to try to bring here etc ... This commitment is important for me, I need this wonderful place as much or more than many others, and a promise is a promise. I don't usually find excuses for not doing what is promised. Both Alan and I work from both countries to build up the ''brand'' ( I hate the word) HIP GNOSIS with companies, genebanks etc... There is much that is not seen. I also have a column in a new regional newspaper, and I have to write a lot, answer to readers etc... I am writing on technical stuff at the moment for Tomodori, it has not been release yet, but is in completion. And there are all the trials to prepare for next year,,growing hundreds of cultivars of melons or potatoes, for exemple, is no easy task, especially when there is corn, peas, strawberries, cabbages too, getting organized with others for market gardening and such... Few realize how hard it was for me to be here so often this summer, and I am very far from being bored right now, I spend 15+ hours or so per week on research, selection etc... only for next summer. That is not counting time for trades etc... I don't have neither time nor energy for a blog, the newspaper I am writing for will have an interactive site soon, that will be it for me. I'll collaborate with my friends Val and Dan, since we consider each other's material as the other's too, I'll just pretend their blog is mine In the summer, I have a buddy named Alan that will soon, I hope, have to raise a family ( hint hint) and he has to make a decent living, so I'll help him sell wonders at markets while I am here... one less thing for him to concentrate on...

P.S. Mike, if you ever are really really bored (like that'll happen), I'd be honoured if you would guest post on my blog.

LOL, Karen and Mike are spanking each other. Somehow I feel left out. Anyhow, I appreciate all the help Mike, it is much appreciated. I've had a hard time this year keeping up with all of my commitments due to constantly working on new project for the business, updating the blog, promoting Hip-Gnosis, and so on, so I understand how hard it is to keep up with writing responsibilities, normal I reserve winter for that, but I've still got 5,000 things going on this year that are making it harder than ever, I'm almost too tired or pressed for time most days to do much of anything. January is looking great however, I don't think I'm going to do anything but sit on the internet. As far as the family thing goes.....one of these years, I'll get there, but I'm not rushing anything I'm still a kid in my mind anyhow and besides, I like the attention! If you get a chance though Mike, feel free to make some posts for the Homegrown Blog as well. I do agree with Karen (I usually do, Karen is "all-wise" and I value her advice greatly, plus she's like the older sister I never had.) a blog does make it easy to look up each individual person on our little message board and look at their individual projects without searching through all the threads here which is nice. I consider the blogs an "In addition to" as opposed to a "instead of" of the Homegrown Goodness board. One thing I would love for us to work on is creating some digital forms for plant variety reviews where in we can make an online library of records for trialing and plant breeding, it would be great to have this information accessible to everyone. Mike and I are great conspirators if I may add, there are many ongoing projects, the coming years will be very exciting I think.

Bah! Alan, every passionate person is always a kid. I am 50 and there is still that chidren discovering wonders in me, the same goes for almost everybody here , I am sure.
As for that family thing, don't rush it, nobody here will hold gruges against you if you wait until this spring ;D
As for mariage and all, it is great, but one word of advice from a married man: don't let Kimmie eat ANY wedding cake...
They put a stuff against kinky sex in it... ;D
