I hope this is appropriate it's my first post!!! I have 450 types of herbs in my collection and was wondering if there are people who trade herbs here? Many are hard core medicinal herbs. www.herbcoop.com/list-of-herbs.php - My list is posted and updated here! It's easier that way so I don't have outdated lists out all over the place. If you have something not on my list and want to trade something for it, speak up. I have 5000 items in a mini seedbank that I can trade with. PReston

Hi Peston..
Yep.. you're in the right place.. right topic too. Everything looks appropriate to me. i don't do much for herbs as you already know.
I'm just posting to say welcome to homegrown goodness. I think you'll like it here.

Welcome Preston, you have an impressive list, I'm blown away by it since I am really into using herbs and wild plants (some people call them "weeds", but I don't...) for medicinal purposes. My biggest problem is not finding something since, given the choice, I would want them all, but knowing what to trade you. Are you looking for other seeds besides herbs? Please, give us an idea; did I see in another thread something about tomatoes? And what else? Since you are keeping up a seed bank, I have a question: how long do you keep your seeds? Is there any specific rule to know if they are still viable? From my own personal experience I know that tomato seeds stay viable for many year (last year I germinated many from 1990 and maybe earlier, with the biggest problem being that I planted too many because I thought that they would not germinate at all....fooled me....!). So, what about herbs? Give us some of your knowledge. Thank you Paola

Preston, Welcome to Homegrown Goodness. This is a great place for folks like you. Hope you find great info here. I have. I saw your list and I think that you would love to know what I have for some seeds. Especially for your project for the Ute Museum. I have limited seed for the Indian garden but I know I can help you. I do well with PM's. There are so many subject lines on here that I loose track of where I have been and where I am going sometimes. Could be my airheadedness.

Are you looking for other seeds besides herbs? Yes, tomatoes but if you have herbs, not on my list. Trade that first.
how long do you keep your seeds? All the seeds I have were acquired over the past year. I keep my seeds in a refrigerator, in ziplock bags.
I am looking for just about any type of seed and willing to trade just the same but I have a whole lot and sometimes I have only 20 per strain. For me, even 4 seeds will allow me to grow-out enough to get more seed. I am not picky, I like variety and bulk.
Let me know what you want to trade and I will usually take it unless I have too many already.

I took a quick look, wonderful list...Maybe I overlooked, but I didn't see cryptotaenia, agastache, zanthoxyllum, and probably others . Is the vitex the agnus-castus or is it another species?
