I haven't ordered yet, but have my form filled out. This Lon Rombough has written a book on grapes, and belongs to some of the same groups I am on. He sells dormant cuttings for many varieties for $1.30 each, minimum of 5 per variety. Shipping and handling for 40 cuttings is $16. It is really easy to root dormant cuttings, so I feel it is a very good price. He has tons of varieties, and short descriptions of most that give you the best use for that particular grape. Now is the time to order if you want to try dormant cuttings. Karen I am an idiot. I didn't give you the address: www.bunchgrapes.com

Thanks for the link Karen, those are really good prices, I may have to check this out, now that I'm want to ferment everything and make wine from it I will have to be planting some more fruit vines and trees, I have finally discovered how to keep dad from running things over with the lawnmower! Survey flags do wonders! LOL!

We got cuttings from my father in law two summers ago, I "planted"(?) them, a few got some leaves, but due to lack of water, they didn't last through the fall. We're gonna get some more and try again this year.

Take your cuttings and bring them inside in very deep pots. The grape trade even has special deep black plastic pots developped for them.
Make sure you only have a couple of buds above ground, otherwise too much foliage while the roots are only minimaly able to provide nutrients can be fatal.
They can successfully be directly planted in the ground and grow, but then you are gambling on lots of environmental unknowns. Too much sun and a gardener that forgets to water being 2 of them ;D
It is always good to start rooting cuttings under minimal sun...

Alan, here is the list of varieties I am ordering. I'll share, of course. Interlaken, Lakemont, Reliance, Venus, New York Muscat, Seneca, Steuben and Ivan.
