Could you dig up one and store it in your fridge for a few weeks in the winter. I've thought of doing it... trouble is by now they're gigantic! almost 1.5m tall... could be grounds for divorce if I try to put those monsters into the fridge Still I might plant some just to give a try! Tim: Yup -- I'll have to cage the few pods I get and select seed from them.... next Spring

Okay, so this is my first year growing broccoli and cauliflower - when is sort of a safe temperature to leave them outside at? I know they can be left out earlier than a lot of veggies, but I'm so used to planning and checking temps for my hotter weather plants that I find myself utterly confused as to when the broccoli/cauliflower can be planted outdoors! Whenever it is safe to plant peas, it is usually safe to plant out your cabbage family.

If you want to revert the plant to childhood and turn it into hundreds of similars you can lop it off to within a foot of the ground, cut off all above ground shoots from stem.... wait a month or so and poof ! up will pop the first of hundreds of plantlets that can be pulled and rooted (cut back the leaves after pulling). ...they will be like the parent plant.
