I was about to order some trees from the Arbor Day foundation but thought I'd ask you guys if you have some favorite vendors of fruit trees. I'm wanting apples, pears, tart and sweet cherries, figs, apricots and plums. I'll probably get some nut trees, too. Let me know if you have any places that you hold in high regard and I'll check them out.

Burnt Ridge, One Green World, Raintree are all good. They may seem a little pricy, but you generally get what you pay for and it is better to start with a quality tree.

I can personally vouch for One Green World & Raintree. Even though they're both an easy day trip from my house, I mail-ordered through both companies last year for apples to start a Belgian Fence espalier project. All of my trees were shipped quickly, were excellent specimens, and were in excellent shape upon unpacking.

What about good fruit tree vendors in Canada?
I'd like to get a hold of some bare root dormant types for planting this coming autumn. We no longer have a local commercial greenhouse/nursery which is a shame.

I've gotten a few things from Arbor Day and they are doing well after a couple years.. took a bit to get going but that's how it is. Prices were good and I would get from there again probably.

I was looking online at a few places. Burnt Ridge has one of the best gaurantees that I have seen. And they seem to be very reasonably priced to me. I live so rural that its cheaper for us to order from a company than purchase local. Sad but true. Their shipping is spelled out for those who may not know about certain things too! And they are helpful. Thats may take at least.
I ordered from them and they already sent me an email twice stating when and how they will ship the trees and fruit bushes and to contact my local Post office to let them know when they will arrive. I am not sure if everyone receives this treatment or if it was the amount of money that we spent with them to get this kind treatment.
Good luck its not easy to find everything in one place either.
