Over the weekend Kim and I spent some time cleaning out the chicken coop for the fist time in several months (we use the deep liter method, works well here). Anyhow, we didn't get the yards cleaned out yet, but from the coop alone we got nearly a ton and some more of material that is now setting in the garden composting. In two days the temperature has risen to nearly 140 degrees. Should make some really nice compost for use with corn and greens, looking forward to feeding the garden this gourmet meal! All organic too, locally sourced feed, no GMO's, no Dewormer (just red pepper flakes) and no antibiotics! Just good ol' chicken shit!
