Moonie, you could come back for a visit...You'd remember in a hurry what it's like, LOL It's freakin' cold tonight let me tell you....But Thursday and Friday when the temperature rises above frigid again and the moon is in Cancer for planting...I'll have forgotten how chilled to the bone I am tonight...

Blue, I tell her all the time to come to NY. She has a place to stay in the Catskills. (as long as she doesn't mind a 140 lb potbelly pig in the house lol).

Some month the snow will melt. lol Meeting at your mom's would be fine with me. The best way to befriend Precious is through her tummy. Her two favorite snacks are puffed cheese doodles and those Pig Newton cookies (any flavor).

The temperatures have been settling in the mid to high fifties during the day and no frost or very light frost at night here in Portland, OR/Vancouver, WA area. We're actually seeing plenty of sun right now!
I have salad greens and radishes popping up in the low hoop bed (thanks Grunt & Grungy) and a healthy population of tomato and pepper seedlings living on the enclosed, but unheated, back porch. Some of the mache, spinach, kale, and broccoli that overwintered are showing signs of spring growth in the last week or so too.
Looking forward to feeding the family from the garden again soon! ;D

Your welcome clarkfoodfarm - we got tired of looking at over a foot of snow (blech!) and set out 1 of our germination chambers with carrots, chard, and collards along with some pepper seeds and our bean and corn in paper pot experiment. I think we have some of every veggie up now. Man does it look pretty against the white backdrop.

And the trend is continuing. I can barely contain myself!!!

Poor Bunkie, when everyone else is having a beautiful day in their neighbourhood, you are doing that walking in a winter wonderland (if in fact, you can walk at all in it).
Lambies would be best at the end of the month I say!!

It is almost 90 degrees here today so I'm hardening off tomatoes and plan to plant this weekend. Our last average frost date is 3/17 but we've been known to freeze through April. No cold weather is forecasted for this month so hopefully April will be nice, too. Otherwise, I'll be scrounging for blankets and water jugs.
