Is it Spring yet? Nope. *sigh* Atlantic Canada is getting bombarded by snow storm and high winds today.

What a cutie! I guess those on the east coast have really been bombarded this year. I shouldn't complain about our winter here in the Outaouais at all! Or at least not too much yet.... Just keep saying 'it's almost March, then it's almost over' over and over again. Really, only 5 more weeks!

That's a handsome dog. Sammy, I'm right there with you: Almost March but is that storm headed our way?

After I took that picture, even more snow fell today.
Dog is my "puppy" Sheeba who's not much older than a year old. She was begging to go out but quickly saw how nasty it was and wanted back inside where it was warm.

Sheeba is very cute. Is she a lab or newfie mix? My uncle had a huge Newfie years ago, and people use to stop and stare when the two of them walked down the street together. The Viking and the Bear, we used to call them. My uncle was about 6ft4, and being a real Dane, had the whole mustache, etc going, so they made quite the picture.
And, OttawaGardener, storm?? What storm? (sticking head in the sand...or the snow pile) We are going up to +6 Wed or Thursday. No storm...Besides March comes in like a lion, goes out like a light, dead truck battery, Quebec power or Bell satellite (why we switched to cable) on a real windy day, you know, one of those lamby kinda thingies!

Well Sheeba's mom is a golden retriever, but I don't know what kind of dog her father was. She's all legs and is built for running, and is very active. I'd guess she's around 70 pounds but still all puppy. lol
Next weekend we are due for +3 and 4 temps, but those days they are calling for rain/snow mix.

I feel a little better seeing Ceara has a lot more snow than I do! I would have said your puppy is a Newfie mix. My friend had a big male for many yrs. Obi was HUGE but sweet. Your Sheeba's a cutie!

Yeah, power outage - I mean lamb. Well than I encourage a small storm March 1st followed by nothing else but spring emerging.

Wow - it's definitely feeling like spring here! And I was complaining about the 1cm that fell yesterday (and quickly proceeded to melt). It's warm enough here now for rain at night (rather than the snow!).

*shakes fist at those in warmer climates*
lol
We spent the majority of the day outside, trying to clear the snow from around the car and off the front and back porch roof.

Oh wow - my kids would love to see that. Me, I am happy it stays well away now. I have had my fix of snow this year and things are starting to grow and flower in the garden so I want spring to keep springing this way.

Most of the snow has actually melted here. We can see the grass. lol I saw some of the bulbs are starting to push through. I'll be happy when I see the first snowdrop. EJ, what is considered a BIG snowstorm in your area? Last yr we got 4 ft in one day. I bet your kids would love that.

Snow is great for kids, but not so much fun for adults. lol There are cars to dig out, driveway snow clearing services bills to be paid... it never seems to end.
They are predicting another 20 centimeters of snow for today and this evening and it's already started.
I've noticed though on the years when we don't get this massive amount of snow that the wild blueberries do not produce near as much, and the berries are smaller overall. Doesn't make sense to me, especially when the berries are not ready until close to August. So I do not really know if the annual snowfall amount really does influence the blueberries. Maybe just a coincidence?

Spring has arrived here because the robins have told me so (of course, I just jinxed myself and will wake up to hard frost tomorrow and black lettuce). My tolerance for cold sure has decreased in the last few years. It used to never bother me much, but I freeze all the time if it gets below 40 now. Sheesh! A Yankee no more, I s'pose. Been here too long.
