This probably belongs in the soapbox, but as this is my site, I'm using it to shamelessly self promote a good friend and great artist !
If you are into great lo-fi, americana, indy, and folk music I have a friend out at OSU at the moment who puts out some terrific records and has played shows all over the word in the underground Indy scene, anyhow he is playing a couple shows coming up in Oregon and Washington and if you get the chance you should go check him out!
His name is Joe O'connel and he is from right here in Pekin Indiana, curently studying at OSU. Anyhow, Joe's musical project is called Elephant Micah and it some of the most beautiful and moving music I have ever heard, many of his albums and singles/ep's are constant companions and sources of inspiration here on the farm.

If you have a chance to make it to either of these shows I strongly urge you to attend and tell Joe that Alan Bishop says hello.
